When it comes to corruption, there is no match of political corruption in India. Just ask any Indian about the status of corruption in India and you will listen to some lectures about politicians. It seems no political party is away from it. The hope was with Arvind Kejriwal led AAP, but his support for Lalu and Nitish in Bihar has ensured that even a party coming out of an anti-corruption movement can’t be away from it. In this article, you will find list of five most corrupt politicians of India. The list is because of certain cases and conviction. There might be many more corrupt leaders without conviction.

Top Five Corrupt politicians of India:

1.     A. Raja: When it comes to making money through corrupt practices, very few politicians can match what A. Raja did. According to CAG, he oversees one of the biggest corruptions of India with whooping Rs. 1. 76 Lakh Crores of Rupees in 2G spectrum scam.

2.     Madhu Koda: Mr. Koda is a living example of bad thing that can happen with democracy. He was an independent and Congress and RJD made him the CM of India. There is no limit of corruption that undergoes under his stewardship. The cases are still going on. 

3.     Lalu Prasad Yadav: He was the kingpin of Rs. 950 Crores Fodder Scam of 1990s. Remember those were early days of liberalization and hence that was really a very big money to be made out of Fodder.

4.     Suresh Kalmadi: Congress has overlooked him fearing backlash by voters. But, Suresh Kalmadi is still considered as one of the biggest corrupt leaders of Maharashtra in particular and India in large. His stint with the Indian Olympic Association and Common Wealth Games has led to big corruption in India.

5.     Virbhadra Singh: Despite making huge money out of Steel ministry, this old man has again become the CM of Himachal Pradesh. This shows the rot below Sonia Gandhi’s Congress. CBI is investigating many cases against him for corruption. 

There are many more names, but proof isn’t there. For example, Sharad Pawar is widely considered a corrupt leader. However, there isn’t any proof against him. The irrigation scam under his nephew Ajit Pawar is still going on.
