Reanult Lodgy 85 PS RxL: Personal Review

For long, my family was planning to have a multipurpose vehicle (MPV). We were zeroing in for Toyota Innova. However, my father saw an advertisement about Renault Lodgy MPV and asked me to get some opinion about this car. One of my neighbours is satisfied user of Renault Duster Sedan. Hence, we were aware of the performance of Renault. I visited both Toyota and Renault dealers on the same day along with my brother-in-law. We had test drive for both of these cars. And, after evaluating everything we decided to go for Renault Lodgy MPV. It was slightly costlier than Innova, but it was also quite comfortable. We bought this car in the month of May. It costs us Rs. 8.90 lakhs (the EMI with SBI Car Loan Finance is Rs. 15, 915 per month).

I am driving this car since then and even went for a long trip with my family once. In this article, I am sharing my experience about this car. The first thing is comfort. This car is really good when it comes to providing comfortable driving. It took around one week for me to completely accustom with all systems. However, once I learnt everything it has become a cake walk. The driving seat is adjustable in an easier manner. I have driven many cars on the Indian road, but adjusting the driving seat is easiest with this car. It is even easier than other models of Renault.

There is a soft switch at the right hand side below the driving seat which is required to be pressed to adjust the seat. The audio control is given below the steering. It took me little time, but I must say that it is quite easy to handle. It is in fact quite comfortable to handle and drive this car. It was little bit problematic for me during the first week. After that, I never felt any sort of problem.

It is a seven seater car, suitable for a large family. In fact, it can easily handle eight people. The seats in the middle and rear are equally comfortable. The AC control is given above every seat which can make the journey comfortable for people sitting at the middle and rear. I was little bit surprised to see the way Renault has handled the rear sitting arrangement. First of all, I have to lay down the middle seat to let people enter and sit at the rear. Then, the sitting arrangement makes them little bit higher. And, surprisingly, it is quite comfortable.

I am still feeling little bit problem (even after driving it for more than one month) in handling gear specially while going through a crowded area where gear is required to be changed quickly. For me this is a very good car and I would recommend people who are looking forward to buy an MPV to test drive. My only big disappointment is the space for luggage. When this is a seven seater vehicle, then manufacturer should have provided enough space for keeping luggage. That is not the case. Apart from that, this is a car worth recommending.
